Silicone Mat

A quality silicone mat on your work surface can safe you lots of time when making scones and make cleanup easier and quicker. Most of them will have measured circles so you can form or cut the desired circles of your dough or toppings is not using measured rings. The surface is easy to keep germ free for forming the scones directly on its surface.

After you’re done, wipe down the silicone mat with soapy water, rinse with clear water and hang to dry. You can also clean them in the top rack of your dishwasher. None of the ingredients will end up on your countertop or worksurface. A quick wipe with a paper towel will erase any trace that you were making scones on its surface.

I have several silicone mats but prefer the Super Kitchen 28″ x20″ for most cooking. It’s thicker and tougher than most other brands – but don’t slice on it! The surface is large enough for each step of making scones and I can do multiple tasks at the same time.

Any quality silicone mat will do, but if you would like to try the Super Kitchen [Amazon affiliate link*] one, you can find it on Amazon.com.
